青函連絡船・十和田丸 (Ⅰ)。洞爺丸台風で没した洞爺丸の代替の車載客船として1957年から1966年まで就運航につく。主機のディーゼル化をはじめ、洞爺丸事故を受けた徹底的な安全対策がとられた。
　1966年に車両渡船へ改造がなされ、石狩丸(Ⅱ)として1967年から1977年まで運航につく。
