As of the Steven Universe models, all models will be 3D, BUT will be the same model to have the option to go cel shaded like 2.5D, if necessary.

Thornwall from Maleficent- Matte painting/VFX art direction. I did a 2.5D approach for the wall. I created a few 2D thorn branch cards, and then arranged them in 3D space in Cinema 4D. ⁠You can see a render here. I then added lighting, integration, and detailing.
