Eric Roth will be the screenwriter for Dune. For those of you who don’t know, he’s behind films including The Star is Born, and Forest Gump, which he won a Academy Award for Best Writing Adapted Screenplay. He is a phenomenal writer working today and he will do great in Dune.
Frank Herbert’s 1965 “Dune” is one the best and innovative science fiction books of all time. Even Star Wars was inspired by Dune. Denis Villenueve’s Dune should be able to build the people and worlds imagined by Frank Herbert in a more organic way, if done right.
Timothée Chalamet will play as Paul Atreides, the main protagonist in Dune. In the movie “Call Me By Your Name”, he showed a great wide range of emotions as a teenager, which lead him to an nomination for Best Actor at the Oscars. He is the perfect actor to do this big role.
This finally turned up this morning! An extremely rare copy of David Lynch’s “The Art of Dune.” Contains may unseen original concept drawings, storyboards and behind the scenes set/model photographs.
It was only produced in a limited run back in 1984.
