“Welcome,’ it said. ‘How nice to see you in the physical world at last.’
Harry’s immediate impression was of a large, glittering insect. Professor Trelawney moved into the firelight; and they saw that she was very thin”

Morag gave me one of her pictures to take home with me. It’s very beautiful, all watery and curving. Sometimes I think it looks like waves, or the shape of a seal, or perhaps a woman swimming.

Late that afternoon Morag and I went for a walk along the cliffs. We didn’t hear any singing, but the wind roared and the sky looked like a shoal of fish.

Values are still holding up and drawing attention where They should be, but I'm worried the watery dragon is starting to sink. I don't want to stress too much until the firelight is placed.

When I told Mum’s friend, Morag, about the singing, she didn’t seem in the least surprised. She’d heard it herself, she said, but that was a long time ago. I was staying with Morag, having a whole term off school. They said the sea air would do me good.

This week we’re looking at the story Sea Singing from Stories By Firelight.

Did I tell you about the time I heard singing coming from the sea? I knew it wasn’t the wind or seabirds calling. It was a woman’s voice, I was sure of that.

"The embodiment of wispy firelight, the Lightcharger can be seen soaring across the skies of Targon as dusk turns to night. It bathes in the moon's most radiant glow, galloping nobly from east to west and protecting the world from the eternal darkness."

His images have grown in popularity in the 20th C. It’s often the case that artists are drawn to the tradition of the countryside at times of great social change. Harvesters by Firelight (1830), The Timber Wain (1833-4), The Barns (1820-30s) & The Golden Valley (nd)
