This has been a really challenging painting so far. The paper texture under the gesso forced me to experiment more with textures.

Embracing textures.

I used rough watercolor paper with a gesso layer for this, and, at first, really struggled with it. Now I'm going all in on patterns and trying out new blending techniques. 🙂

Getting out of my comfort zone might be good, who would have thought!
