First and perhaps most obvious, is the sheer size of Tylosaurus. Large specimens of T. proriger likely grew to be 40 to 50 feet in length, easily making it one of the largest mosasaur species to ever live.

Here is Plotosaurus, one of my fav mosasaurs and one of my research subjects.

Formerly Kolposaurus, but turns out the name was taken, Plotosaurus is a really unique mosasaur in that it has exceedingly derived aquatic characters. The fishy boi.

Oh, look. It's I confess, I have always had as weakness for Heinrich Harder's incredibly weird 1912 pairing of a bizarrely long-necked, frilled ?tylosaurine with two ichthyosaurs and their exposed paddle bones. It's almost surrealism.
