1) shapes of light and dark (2-3 max)
2) middle tones of each plane
3) high chroma colors, opaque lights, softening and hardening edges

Orchid genetics are pretty opaque, so the genetic system in NOG is fictional (with an effort to reflect reality). Wide Bars comes from 1 barred gene + 1 marking gene that strengthens it, Barred is 2 barred genes, and Weak Bars is 1 barred gene + 1 marking gene that weakens it.

I noticed they changed the Sentinel visor in YuYuYu S3 to be translucent instead of opaque like it usually was in the KuMeYu LN illustrations. It's an interesting change but it makes a bit more sense to be like that in animation.
