@somentiro @Vesperis_Art These are all compositions where I used the spiral to guide my sketch, and I say "guide" because as you can see, I'm not following it literally, but where I could I would have directional lines either roughly or literally follow the spiral shape to lead towards my focus.

Think about what you want to reflect in the character through a still image alone - it helps you establish what mood/pose you are going for! :D

Below is my copy of one of my favourite Manet compositions, Dans la Serre, which is in the Alte Nationalgalerie, Berlin.
Here, the older version. I said before I do love centralized, still compositions, but I work better with assimetrical, dynamic ones. Again, pursuing a style is less about drawing the way you want, and more drawing the way you feel better and have more fun in the process.

The common response here is that people should learn Japanese.
Which, yes, you probably should try and learn Japanese.
But this problem doesn't get -solved- by people learning Japanese. Because the problem is zero of "our people" are in positions of influence in the industry.
