The one that I'm most proud of took me a few months. There was a lot of work on how to make the layers overlay over each other but stand out as well and working without color was an added challenge. Post which the challenge was creating the immersive movement.

I usually draw simpler/chibi characters when trying to figure out the outfits and design.
And then I do a portrait to figure if I want them to have a specific facial feature/hairstyle.
