then colouring! I colour in photoshop by first separating out the lineart, then painting bg and foreground flats, layering in shadow, a nice paper texture so it suits my shaky hand lineart better, and finally gradient map and line colour to bring it all together.

's gorgeous ponysona Pena that I drew as revenge for their attack on me. That's my own ponysona Colour Curious in the foreground as a cameo.

I love . I'd wish July was every month, if it wasn't for the darn heat.

I always enjoy background gags, though I guess this one is in the foreground as well.

InDesign document. Vector illustration in the background, white text and vector objects placed in the foreground. 200% zoom. Same document. Screenshots taken to rule out quality of monitor.

Why do the foreground and background of this image have a different PPI count, Katy? 🤣

Why you lying? https://t.co/rmvJ2zLTOh

btw I think this is being displayed incorrectly, I believe the helm actually hides the face/head mesh of the player character and shows the shade+spooky eyes and the face is currently in front of the helm foreground texture.
this is how the helm looks without anyone wearing it https://t.co/cScf4d02Au

Art friends, I need your help! I feel like the bowl of noodles aren’t really popping out from the table / bg. Any advice on how to distinguish the foreground/background? 🙏🏼 🙏🏼

Missing the sea 18x24

Tried to underpaint in pink this time.

While it is quite nice for the sky and also for the foreground, I really struggled to get the grey tone out of the skin.

So lately I've been using coloured outlines to distinguish the ”background” of a character's design from the “foreground”.

Honestly, how does it look? I'm looking to refine this style some more, maybe figure out other ways to integrate coloured outlines.

With this image, I really wanted to perfect the interaction of colours to give a glowing sense of light. I just love how the colours have come together in the sky; almost to give a real life 'photograph effect' with the textured art in the foreground. https://t.co/7Wrnp7Ufue

This wide countryside vista is based on a view from the Cleveland Way, near Faceby in the North Yorkshire Moors. The whole scene is bathed in a pinky golden light with a tapestry of heather in the foreground. https://t.co/aX5Fn7LmQr

Every time these two hold hands in scenes, my heart melts 😭💖

WIP from my webcomic, Whispers of the Past. (Please excuse the empty space; I'm going to paint the grass + flowers in the foreground.)

I love for their impeccable composition; they're not just beautiful, they're EMOTIONAL. Look at the poppies there in the foreground, the teddy bear amongst the bodies. His covers, like his interiors, are so alive with human detail

Ok, jokes aside, there is a story here. Moore has said he did the left version first and made the foregrounded woman look "irritated" due to the man's gaze. Then, publisher notes made him add sunglasses, which he thinks "diminished that particular effect"
