thank god the current designer for the X series knows what he's doing! Mizuno not only brought the series' artstyle back to it's X5-X7 roots, but also slightly modernized it, kinda like Rebuild of Evangelion

I was actually talking to a few friends about this a few days ago. I’d want them to have an artstyle more akin to the original. Queen’s Blade/Gate had a good modernized redesign, but that game also has you literally shredding your opponents clothing off. Yikes.
