Layers of Fear 2 has a ton of allusions to film history, but this is one of my favs. Straight outta Fritz Lang's 1927 Metropolis, where a character hallucinates that the factory machine is Moloch, an ancient god associated with child sacrifice, feeding off the industrial workers.
