I usually draw ‘em intersecting with a smooth curve, but sometimes tweak it depending on the expression he’s making. IMO, if he’s really grinning or something, it makes sense that the muzzle would kind of stick up a little. I think it helps emphasize the emotion. (bottom right)

I've seen it work without being a 'flush' curve too, granted - this one IDW cover by Hammerstrom sticks in my mind as a pretty much perfect Sonic, despite having a more angular muzzle and no flush curve. It's just not *flat* either

Leo Expression Sketches. I'm giving him a similar face shape to Donnie but it's got more of a muzzle feel. Not quite as human as Donnie's. He's also got a very loose w shape to his mouth. Only his canines are fangs, unlike Donnie, though.

Sonic characters' muzzles curve in a way meant to have the eyes roll naturally out of them.

I don't really get why they have Sonic's eyes just stick out of his muzzle now, it has always bothered me and is pretty confusing ngl.
