So last year I said that I was going to draw myself with incense up my fuckin' nostrils based on a post I made about incense being shoved up my nose and calling it 'aromatherapy'.
What better way to return to form than fulfill that promise?

Looking thru old art (this one from 2012). I had little grasp of what a head is supposed to look like. Not a clue what is actually under that layer of skin. How do eye sockets work. How big is that eyeball supposed to be! Nostrils, how. What even is a jaw.

I usually draw a skunks nostrils as a curved line or a more detailed curve with a oval/tear drop shape at the end.

(The second one's from a drawing of an opossum I did, but because I wasn't sure how to draw the opossum nose perfectly, I drew it similar to how I draw a skunk's)

Buckies are sluggish walkers that can stick to any surface using their stubby legs. Small red bristles are orderly placed on their head and body. Buckies have a long mouth and rabbit-like buckteeth, hence their name. Two small nostrils stand between their distant, wide open eyes.

The finer details from the high-res mesh will be baked into the textures of a more animation friendly lower resolution mesh.

I have no idea how accurate this might be, but I decided to give Clidastes valved nostrils based on those of sea snakes, manatees and toothed whales. I doubt there is any way to know such soft tissue detail save for an incredibly well preserved fossil.

A sauropod like creature OC.
It's called Piccoran! These social monsters are vocal communicators, able to make a range of sounds with their nostril. Piccoran can shoot strong bursts of wind to defend themselves.
