you have a SUPER cute style! i'm a little late but if you're still looking for tips, i recommend tapering the blunt ends of your lines into points - you can also kind of "split" those points in half for a bit of furry texture! Like so~

A little quick update because I’m a clown: I touched up Percy and Steven’s references again, mostly giving their palettes a bit more saturation; and Steven received a bit of trimming & tapering to make her more baboon-like and easier to draw.

In case my process fascinates anyone. Sketch / finished art. I used the Turner watercolor brush on top of the lineart for the colors..and the hair highlights & little extra strands of hair with the Tapered liner. Used the water splatter brush for finishing touch on the jacket.

I haven't had much time to work on anything big, so here's a wolf practice headshot. It was going to be a full body drawing, but I scrapped that part in the end. I wanted to try my hand at line tapering. It isn't much, but I'm learning.

What I learned:
•ink wash improves face clarity
•acrylics are the base
•markers are for touchups
•slater/tapered ink for outlines
