Wind - as captured in the art of Andrew Wyeth. (1917-2009). Wyeth was an artist fascinated by natural beauty and the seasons; the rhythms of life and death and birth.

"If there is such a thing as a purely American tradition in Art, it is represented at its best in the straightforward canvases of Andrew Wyeth.”~ LIFE magazine, May 17, 1948

In “Rip Van Winkle” by Washington Irving (1783–1859), Van Winkle drinks liquor with some peculiar men playing nine pins in the Catskill mountains & wakes up 20 years later- echoing cautionary tales of humans who eat or drink in Faery.

In art college we had to recreate one of our favourite works of art. I chose a study for “Christina’s World” by Andrew Wyeth. I love Wyeth‘a precision mixed with a gorgeous fluidity. This was so much fun to do :-) (both are watercolour, mine is the 1st one, Wyeth’s is the 2nd).
This NC WYETH four-pack makes me grateful for all the beauty in the world--have you encouraged a creative person today??? Do it before the sun goes down...
