2017-Hollow Knight. 2017 was insane for games and I was about to put BOTW but saw HK was 2017 and it was all over. A master class in Metroidvanias that's in my top 10 games ever. Runner ups: BOTW, Horizon Zero Dawn, Nioh, Samus Returns, Nier Automata, DQ11
2017: BotW. As a big Zelda fan, BotW was such a fresh experience. I had a lot of fun playing it on my new Switch that I waited in line outside of Walmart at like 6am in the Canadian winter to get.
Bonus: Persona 5 the goat. All I ate was tofu when I played this game. Idk why.
@Jackk_hm @rrrnncr @_J4ckk_ @max_oats But I totally agree that Gi looks WAY better than breath of the wild, from graphics point of view, even if I like BOTW visuals better because of the art direction. BTW this Ubisoft Zelda clone game is also on the switch and also kinda graphically looks better than botw
2017: Yes this does unironically go over BOTW, Mario Odyssey and Xenoblade 2
2017: an EVEN MORE stacked year and as much as I think BOTW is a perfect game (which it is), A Hat in Time just has so much charm and while Celeste is the pinnacle of 2D platformers, this is the pinnacle of 3D platformers for me. It made MARIO look boring to me!
