Al-Khayzuran bint Atta (the "real" Scheherazade) had two sons: Caliphs Al-Hadi & Harun al-Rashid. The latter especially was a beloved leader & patron of the arts, guided by his shrewd mother. He even appears as a character in several stories in 1,001 Nights. #FairyTaleTuesday
“… he would have chosen some dream city of the Orient for his birthplace, a Persian princess for his mother, and an artist of the Ming Dynasty for his father”

What's your favorite fairy tale to be retold? Mine are probably The Twelve Dancing Princesses, The Seven Ravens, and Snow White and Rose Red. #FairyTaleTuesday #fairytale (beautiful art by @Iren_Horrors)
In Filipino folklore, there are lots of monsters, called aswang. The wakwak is one such creature, which can split itself in half at the torso so the top half can enter your home. They feed off humans and fetuses.

Chudo Yudo, the Slavic version of a multi-headed #dragon. Found in #fairytales like 'Storm-Bogatyr, Ivan the Cow's Son.' This ferocious beast can assume human-like forms & has the ability to grow missing heads! Some say Chudo-Yudo is a descendent of Baba Yaga. #FairyTaleTuesday

YUTA is strongly inspired by fairytales (you can guess by which one :3), so that's my little tribute to #FairyTaleTuesday
Cpt Aubrey’s adventurous world of fighting sail . With added dragons. What if the Napoleonic Wars were fought on land, sea & with draconic air forces: @naominovik's “Temeraire” series tells an immensely readable story of rather loveable dragons & their friends

It's my birthday AND it's #FairyTaleTuesday! ✨ The theme is fairytale creatures, so here are some of my goblins, a mermaid, and a tiny dragon

In #Polish #Folklore, the Wawel #Dragon terrorized Krakow during the reign of King Krakus. He demanded meals of live cattle, thus depleting farms. Krakus' sons tricked him by feeding him calf skins stuffed with smoldering sulfur, which caused his fiery death.
