Struggling with hair colouring of Kocho Shinbou from Demon Slayer....It looks dull without the highlights...but the highlights look wrong? I tried purple ones but it looked weird ajslkdfjs

also my colouring is so messy QwQ How does one make it cleaner??

mostly under but for fine details I go over! my icon is a good example. I blocked in colors under lineart, but did soft details like the eyelids and lips over, & for cleaner lines on the hard objects like earrings, metal on the choker, and pin over. highlights also on top!
