オーストリア・ハンガリー帝国出身の仕立屋。「飛行士が飛行機事故の際パラシュート代わりに地上へ降下できる外套」を発明し、パリはエッフェル塔のデッキ（高さ60m）から飛び降りたが、予想に反し外套が開かず地上に激突した。墜落の場面を収めた映像が残る。
