Without a doubt, 2008 specifically. The art from that year is peak "web-comic," and I absolutely love it.

The penguins look perfect. Not too cute - not too silly. Completely believable, and very expressive.

2009-2012 was *too* cutesy, & everything else was far too exaggerated.

The Machine Elf Alpha is rigged. So nice to be able to move him around and try different poses. I have a few things to work out with more extreme movements but he is coming together. Going to get him deployed in this month... but not until he's perfect.

friends and i finished our trollhunters rewatch (in anticipation for the movie) and im thinking about how shoddy the design for claire's armor is compared to the concept art. I mean, just slide the palette over for some of these and its perfect. The end product... not so much
