My two favorite antagonists in fiction are emotional fools who paid a huge price for a position that makes them miserable (but are convinced it's what they want), have anger issues and a harem of wives, and are overall nothing but pawns and scapegoats for the overarching villain.

SPOILER:

One more thing. My first Superman comic featured Master Jailer so I’ve always had a soft spot and seen a lot of potential in this minor villain. My jaw dropped when it was revealed to be him. It’s just a brilliant way to use the character.

also Crowbar is hella bi.
HC: one time he as about to get the jump on Droog but DD accidentally dropped his grey ladies and Crowbar saw them and that second of shock was all he needed to get away.
The other felt members are confused why Crowbar failed but he refuses to explain.
