About redesigning them:
I felt like red’s design was…too generically an apple, and the cape impeded with a solid silhouette. I wanted to do more with the leaf and stems to make “hair” and so I did! Sorry if the redesigns are disappointing! I hope it’ll grow on you!

@RPGMoogle Jeez, these character designs are so generic af. Where's that colorful, medieval/fantasy/sleek flair? Even FF15 got this right despite most of main cast wearing black.
I know the FF Origin lead looks hilariously generic, but I still ended up loving Nioh despite the lead being blonde white guy samurai. (you can tell me William is based on a real person all you want, I still thought he was a boring lead)
As a curiosity, Dante was one of the few who did not have a radical design change until his proximity to the final version.

Anyway, the original GSC mom design is my favourite in the whole series, with such a cool unique design and adorable togepi style outfit. I have no idea why HGSS changed her to look so generic!
Thank God I have seen the artwork outside the western release because this shit makes it look like the most generic run of the mill anime game.
