12. It depends on the piece, the level of detail and the background.
Something simple can take me a few hours and something more complex, days.
First one, for example, from the sketch to the end 5-6 hours.
The second about three days. The rosary and their small bone beads.
As I started the sketch I knew I wanted to go for a battle scene. I knew I wanted to set up a dramatic scene with a castle and an impressive background. I also used some of my characters I designed earlier

Have my all-time favorite sketch.
Shinkawa seems to have this habit of using duplicated and resized lineart as this subtle additional shading or background. Sometimes it is so subtle that you can't even really tell.
It's a thing I try to emulate in my art, but with varying results.

14. I'm currently trying to improve on my backgrounds. I took a bg class & I actually really loved it, but I struggled with adding like... things to that background. They're very stark and bleak. They need more "life." I have a Harley Quinn piece I've been trying to do that with
