Details and final illustration for this #mermay 🌸🌱 Maybe it would have been better with more contrast, darkening more in the shadows, so I don't rule out retouching it a little later, but for now it looks like this 😊
@EthelChamomile you can achieve less contrast color like what tloz oracle did (a very good example of GBC can do)
right one can still looks like GBC, you just have to fine tune it

Quick and dirty Vander study to try greyscales to colour process. I am not sold. I haven't painted over the tweaked colour layers yet, so it's still very grey, but the endless contrast and tones fiddling make my eyes water. I feel like it's harder to judge what I'm looking at.
