💙Madame Lizie👗

I was listening to a thing called "royalty core" I found on youtube and it's just a classical music playlist, but hey I won't complain I was listening to Merry Go Round of Life on repeat and I was in the mood for the ethereal aesthetic 🌹✨

"Red Thirst" (1997) reminds me of some of my favorite classical paintings like "Ossian receiving the Ghosts of the French Heroes" (1801) by Girodet and "Light of the World" (1853) by William Holman Hunt. It's such an usual color scheme and so LUMINOUS when it's done right!

Anime's cinema scene is performed better than manga.

Shadows are made darker.
The sudden change from calm classical music to creepy music.

Atmosphere gets more haunted in the anime.

MAPPA does a really good job👍

This is Dante Gabriel Rossetti's 1868 painting, The Return of Tibullus to Delia! The image on the right is an earlier version (featuring Elizabeth Siddal) from c.1853!

In next week's The Classical Tradition we are discussing the whitewashing of classical statues and figures and Black Classicism. I am really looking forward to the seminar discussion with our post-graduates as I am preparing my power point
