Depends on the texture of clothing to me a lot of the time, if I draw in any clothing wrinkles I circle them around the shape with shading, as well as emphasize the under portion with shading to bring out weight! I also keep the top a little lighter for that rounder feel!

used to feel like i had to perfect my sketch before i do lines
perfect lines before adding base colors
perfect flats before shading, etc
