Is it wrong to say that people who draw Ren and Stimpy as WILD and zany as possible are trying to hard? Sometimes down playing expressions and poses to just doing 'normal' things can be as impressive has the wild takes. You do the wild takes when they matter. Otherwise chill out.

Hot take but the only NoTP of mine so far is Ren x Stimpy.
I think that their dynamic/relationship is too wacky, exaggerated, and played for laughs to be taken seriously as a healthy relationship to the point where it can get uncomfortable in certain degrees.

For no reason in particular I wanted to draw Ren and Stimpy. Also was stuck on Background details for a while until I remembered the show's BG was obtuse on purpose and I did my best to emulate that. Hopefully you're cool with these drawings.

Closer to the grave we all are.

1 big way u realize kids 2day take Ren & Stimpy's legacy completely 4 granted:

what were original, specific "off-model" expressions created 4, let's say, Sven Hoek in the episode of that name

r now cliché expressions u've seen copied in EVERY cartoon & model sheet, 30 yrs since
