I really don't think it is, this is her ACTUAL skin tone, which is clearly much much darker and I don't think it'd be THAT light even in direct light. The only explanation I can think of is they used her anime skin tone, which is (surprise surprise) much lighter than supposed to

The thing is Hori draws her darker and bones draws her much lighter than Hori does.Even if ifs a small change u can clearly see he intends to have her have darker skin lmao.The 1 time he gave her lighter skin was the 2nd pic which is unfair that bones decided to use for the anime

It took a lot of messing around, but I think this brush works with what I want to do. Also trying to use even more lighter colors and use darker colors/shading more sparingly

Fun fact, Merice does actually have irises+pupils, his eyes are just glowy+very light and blend in with the glow (not uncommon for Ancients)
It’s a little easier to tell this in darker lighting
