I'm not sure what it would be called but my process for a lot of work like this is to work backwards - I try to draw as many of the "important" faces of the model first in pixel art, and then i build the model, as low poly as possible based on that! Pic related is the texture

One of those teases was the Life Harvester from Unital Ring. What a let down... Became a random raid event enemy, no illustration, no model, we didn't even get to fight it. We already have a beautiful depiction of it already, you could at least let us fight it in the story!
