The two first ones transitioned into the two latter ones. He still kept details like a stomach indent and body shape, but he simplified it. The more humanoid approach mellowed out a bit in general. Rouge and Sally reflected this.

I don't mean anything beyond that observation.

Sally would be leader characters role in the game ( Because we need leader in game including with Freedom Fighters) with her design, Pre-reboot ( with fluffy cheeks) but having Arabian with sleeveless vest outfit in concept art or with ABT design.

Even then it wasn't the reboot that first "fixed" the issue, it was well-adjusted at times before the Super Genesis Wave too.

Even if you don't like "naked" Sally, she is totally Sonic-esque here.

So yeah, it was an artist "problem" than an innately Sally one.

Oh, I completely agree. Never thought of it as a double standard, and as you said, the arguments that it happened more frequent to Sally is there, so the complaints with the art in those is very much valid.

It has been proven time and time again Sally could be drawn in a way that is tame, adherent to Sonic anatomy, or non-sexual since the beginning and at the end of the comics. It's not her fault, and she was not the only one by a long shot. Have you seen Bunnie or Hershey?

Furthermore, both Amy (physically Sally's age), Mina (16), and Rouge (18) are, at the same time, drawn with more Sonic-like proportions when Sally is drawn otherwise. Steven Butler even admitted it was just his stylistic choice flr her, so it isn't since "Sally is older" either.

At least the reboot fixed that, Made her look more like a Sonic character.
Also he picked really bad images yo compare, look at Sally anatomy is basically a human body with a animal head.
Rouge still very cartoony

You know what's really dumb when someone complains about Sally's design being to "Sexy" for a Sonic character but they just ignore the fact Rouge exist and don't have a issue with her when she's showing more then Sally when you really think about it.
