I wont share kurokirin's nekked booty to the world but I'm really happy with how this turned out, next to his underclothes, I dont get to draw his scaled pattern as much as I'd like so this was an excuse to do so. Decided to play with my scale brush and I really like the effect.

aaa thank you! I did an experiment a while back where I made pixel art with badge dimensions that would be scaled to badge size. And I've also made furcadia portraits before.

so since I'm new to digital art I watched a few tutorials on shading and I think (hope?) this is already an improvement, however don't mind the background. tried out so much but it would always get scaled down when saved so in the end I kept it simple. finished at last~

I tried some different settings but all of them look nearly equally uncanny
1) 8x interpolation with depth perception
2) the gif I'm using (each frame is upscaled with waifu 2x)
3) 4x interpolation (40 fps)
4) 8x interpolation with cartoon depth and smooth down interpolation

Now, here's what happens when that same image is scaled up massively (400% increase height and width "nearest neighbor" in Photoshop). As you can see it looks super sharp! That's cos there's a lot more wiggle room when you're dealing with rescaling clean raw pixels vs scalines.

By having the upscaled pixels (here its 6times, the pattern crosses them at 3 pixels each to disrupt the eye). This is not yet perfect of course, but create a more blurry look I think that lets the straight pixels smooth out.
