Great key animation work by Toshiaki Hontani here, he's also responsible for many of the best effects cuts of the late 1980s, being featured on works like Megazone 23, Battle Royal Highschool, and Akira! Tatsuyuki Tanaka did the human stuff below, with Hontani doing the effects.

Almost done with the two that came out in the late 80s, early 90s (Dai's Adventure and Legend of the Hero Abel.) Only a handful episodes left on both.

Good to see Court Administrator Midas Marquez, my philosophy student in Ateneo de Manila in 1980s, in Supreme Court when we delivered letter to Court on killing of lawyers. Happy to see old friend Ging Ursua and new friend Sol Taule, both of whom I greatly admire!

Fun fact! In the 1980s, Jim Henson was working on a feature length fantasy film about dinosaurs under the title “The Natural History Project”!

He hired William Stout to write the film and design the film’s artistic style. Here are some of Stout’s conceptual drawings. https://t.co/FC6do3BBl4

Apparently it was a gag Nintendo pulled often. Rare even got the gag twice. In the mid 80s, Rare discovered the NES could do split-screen co-op, something Nintendo themselves had been unaware of. When the Stampers showed it off, they checked the workstation to see if it was legit

This gorgeous design, reminds us a little bit of the 'Charley Says' adverts in the 1970s and 1980s, do you remember them?

An emporium of wonders, , set up by Peter Powell in the early 1980s, was a treasure trove of the eclectic, beautiful & quirky. After over 40 yrs Peter has made the difficult decision to close, creating half of our Folk & Fantasy auction: https://t.co/VT0iNXBhlm

Your number one arms dealer and one of the coolest aesthetics to come out of the 80s, 16/18, Destro!

Happy Birthday Patrick Nagel, the embodiment of the 80s, progenitor of vaporware, and patron saint of nail salons everywhere.

Some captures a sleaze I associate with the 80s, and Perturbator's SEXUALIZER EP has it in spades: the title, the artwork, the swanky synths and saxes. It all sounds like bad porn, but in a good way.

Favorite track: Sexualizer

It's not for everyone. I read it before I saw it, back in the 80s, and loved it. But my kids... not so much. 'Dad, what was the fuss about?'

I have, of course, disowned them but I accept their viewpoint.

Completed in the early 80s, this was a centerpiece of the Smithsonian's then-renovated fossil hall. It followed the progression of various eras of life on Earth from single cell organisms to Uncle Beazley to humanity.

Here are some details.

From what I can tell, each cover is representing a different decade (50s,60s,70s,80s,90s, and 2010)

When I finished a project early, I took time to read the original novels that inspired MegaTen. For a series written in the 1980s, it’s quite phenomenal. A lot of plot devices from the games were borrowed from here. You don’t know how gruesome demon possession is until you read.
