It was nice to see Canute actually find his voice this episode. We learned a little bit more about his past with his father & how Ragnar has always been by his side. That ending made me pretty teary eyed. Let's just say Askeladd makes the perfect villain for this series.

Canute and Thorfinn sketch while I sit here and wait for the next episode, patiently.

I know you're all heartbroken over episode 14, so have some Canute and Thorfinn being cold.

Episode 13 of Vinland Saga was very very intriguing. We learned some background information on Askeladd and his so called "secret plan." Canute still didn't want to speak in front of others which causes Thorfinn to look down on him with disdain. I love when Thorfinn sneers 😆

He didnt have to be that pretty but he is. Prince Canute cant wait to see your glow up 💗

It's the people of Wales. They decided to help Askeladd along with Prince Canute in order to eventually enter a treaty of non-aggression. Wales seeks this treaty because they no longer want England in their future affairs since Wales does not side with either party. Smart move 🧐

Prince Canute and his majestic, flowing cape.
I honestly don't know what I was going for here but I had fun drawing the fabric and coloring the lighting around him.

Thorfinn's so far gone he can't even admire bishies is me lol
also yes the episode is faithfully adapted, the tackling of Christianity is thoughtfully done but this is one of the eps where you wish you didn't read the manga and be excited at Canute's appearance LMAO

(2) Bullet points to note:
1. Adapted Ch 20 (only 1 chapter, like ep 7 and ep 9)
2. Altered scene of the sight Thorfinn sees waking up
3. Past few eps REALLYY made Thorgrimm and Atli become proper supporting charas
4. Anime-only content for Canute and co's capture; fireside chat
