“When you compare the sorrows of real-life to the pleasures of the imaginary one, you will never want to live again, only to dream forever.”

Also friendly reminder: Alexandre Dumas, writer of The Three Muskateers and The Count of Monte Cristo was black. I remember finding this out years ago and wondering "Wow! Why don't more people know this??"

@FreakNastDragon @ariieevanity @TheClosestKin His father was the first black general ever in France, it was in the 1790s under Napoleon. Nazis detroyed his statue during WW2. The story of the Dumas family should be a tv series, it’s so complex and interesting.

@arkhamlibrarian @toomuchhorror @blkpulpfiction @Pulpcurry Holloway House only published 3 horror novels that I know of (and I've gone through their list closely): Joe Nazel's BLACK EXORCIST and DEVIL DOLLS and Glenda Dumas' THE ROOTWORKER. Apart from Dillibe Onyeama (from the UK) that's all I know of.

Finally, Thomas-Alexandre Dumas was a half-black french general, the highest-ranking man of African descend to lead in an army in Europe at the time. He learned swordsmanship at a young age from Chevalier de Saint-Georges!! (7/8)
