Today's is for locked-down urbanites. The Fishing Party is a type of group portrait in little or "conversation" thru which H 1st gained fame as a painter. This fab pic is dated c.1731-3 ie the same period as Harlot's Progress👇https://t.co/aJFVfUTw79

Sadly, outdoor hobbies like fishing are not permitted at the moment, but works like William Hogarth’s A Fishing Party remind us of the importance of enjoying pursuits for their own sake - whether that’s reading a book, painting or even doing a crossword.

Here's Hogarth, who's part of a Half-Spider species I made up for my campaign ^^ ✨
He actually isn't part of the main party; he just likes tagging along with them from time to time and causing mischief for fun~
He was based off of an IRL spider nicknamed- x3c

Somebody who captures the feel of something’s character (psychology) rather than focusing purely on their psychical attitributes. Examples are Daumier, Otto Dix, Grosz, Hogarth and Gerald Scarfe. They tend towards political cartoons but the style also is seen in Asterix books.

The Iron Giant and a little Hogarth. A great animated movie and a real tearjerker. Watch it! https://t.co/KMyAzOI0JI

Too large to carry Uglow’s book on Hogarth around, so will read it on Kindle!

We took a cutting from the Mulberry tree planted around 1670 in Hogarth House Garden. Our Estate Garden Manager and inspected the baby tree today. It’s growing!

And another local connection - Sarah T's father was Joshua Kirby, a friend of William Hogarth who had a house in Chiswick (now open to the public). Hogarth encouraged the young JK and produced frontispieces for his books on perspective - check out the attached! https://t.co/alqtDypnYV
