I’m frustrated with my style but I also do not know what I want my style to be. I want to make beautiful characters. I want to draw serious, diverse characters. I want to be sketchy when I draw but I like my bold lines and colors. I want all earth tones w/o giving up pastels.

In lieu of new work for the year (so many distractions from work these days) here are some detail pics from my painting of cutie Isabelle from Animal Crossing. I used gouache, posca, pencils and watercolour pastels.

Playing with my new sketch pad, specifically for soft pastels. A bit out of my comfort zone but good to experiment. These are from photos I took on yesterday’s walk at Pew Tor in between showers

Sunset in soft pastels. I tried Pastelmat and I think I’m in love! This paper and Canson mi-teinte have almost nothing in common. This painting is 6” x 8”.
