Escaflowne: A Girl in Gaea is beautifully animated with a lovely soundtrack. The same goes for Record of Lodoss War OVA. For TV series, hands down, the simplistic beauty of Fruits Basket storytelling is wonderful.

Vision of Escaflowne has been a solid 8 so far. I'm almost halfway through and the narrative is well-mapped, the little bits of politics/morals aren't forced, and the character work is decent to good.

Loving Dilandau in particular, he's really a lot more than he looks.
