The gameplay feels just like the prequel. The players still have that leggy art style to them. The enemies have similar moves, and the platforming action re-visits many of the excellent set-pieces from before. It just feels like we've moved to a more colourful, tropical setting.

So, if you were wondering "did anyone Shinobi this week?" I would say "yes, yes I did." 😁 I first played it, as a kid, on the C64. (I'm not sure I ever saw the arcade cab.) And I really liked it. The main platforming action was well designed, and the 3D bonus stages are fun. 😎

Recently I got to play Yooka Laylee and the Impossible Lair and you know what? I really liked it!
Colorful visuals, great platforming and David Wise music
makes this an amazing game.

Quite interesting that by Wonder Boy IV the choice of the central hero was radically changed. Of course I am not complaining, just noting the series always had various ways of platforming and characters.
