The Polish-Russian artist Marevna (1892-1984) was born as Maria Stebelska Rosanovick.
she made a trip through Italy, where she met the Russian Maxim Gorki. Gorki advised Maria to use the name Marevna. This name came from an old Russian fairy tale.
