I call them selfsonas but yes, Kira is a reptilian-styled Oni. She represents me entirely, including body shape, occupation, health issues, style, you name it.

Oni was the species because I have a bone carved Oni pendant that I connect to strongly and wear almost daily.

Pretty much this. I call it a selfsona however but my selfsona is me in the way she dresses, hair and I gave her my body build. Her animal was picked from the close connection I have to Japanese Oni's, she has my interests, occupation the lot. Hope that helps with a description.
