It’s hard to pinpoint, but both episodes 3 and 4 of Katanagatari gave me some indescribable emotions. The way specific information is relayed, and how it’s presented after the surface level of the anime, felt pretty exhilarating.

A captivating aesthetic, an excellent setup, an ironically brilliant MC, a breathtaking soundtrack, a standout display of dialogue.... and all from just one episode.

Kumagawa is an ultimate troll and paradox in shonen genre as nisio intended, Shichika is the core of the whole katanagatari and has a badass concept of fighting style, Kanbaru is full of energy but not shallow and true to herself, as for Ononoki she is my most favorite character
