Don't try to draw it hair by hair, try drawing it in big strands, and then if you need to, add a thinner line for detail here and there. Also keep it nice and glossy for appeal.

I think the best example of this I can think of is Zarei from 's webcomic Paranatural, in which Zarei is shown in the past as fat, but thinner in the present. Her weight loss is never explicitly addressed as far as I know, and it doesn't need to be.

So the Kirby eyes thing turned into me making a Kirby rig, here's how that's going. I have it set up where the inner lines are thinner while the outer lines are thicker without having to manually adjust them each time.
