stopping point for the night~ gotta put some of the contrast back in cos the gradient map took a good bit of it out
im literally using this insane gradient of black > dark green > light green > red > pink > yellow for this wip and like. nothing about this makes sense but it doesnt matter cuz it slaps. as long as you get your values looking ok it will literally b fine
b//mp!! also some alternate versions from when i was playing around with gradient maps + a regular old reed for reference
@YuamuNanahoshi "
Gradient hair girl, you seem to have quite a potential - I like your style!
As for you Nanaho, I don't want to admit it but you're quite c-c...cute! And also pretty smart for your age... and... *runs*"
@xeno_toast I do very minimal shading overall (mostly just what's required to make the art look less.. flimsy ig?)
But I like to use "blocky gradients" where I layer a lot of segments of cell shading to get a slight blending effect! It's most visible in the eyes I think
@xeno_toast Cel shading is something I enjoy, but I like using airbrush for little details and gradients.
@xeno_toast Cell shading all the way for my primary shading, and then a big gradient for effect/ambient lighting! (I’ll occasionally use softer shading but I’m not great at it 😅)
@xeno_toast I love big, blocky cells, but I'm starting to incorporate opacity gradients and gradient maps. I think I can get them to work in motion too.
@xeno_toast Cel-shaded with some gradients here and there.
@Lithmariel I usually only see 2 colors used for anime style, I had no idea there were infinite color gradients. That sounds like a useful tool for people who want to make more realistic art.
The character in question. I'll have an actual suit ref done for when I'm ready to buy and probably do away with the gradients for the suit^^
เขาว่าสปอยแล้วงานจะเส..อ๋อ เสร็จแล้วเหรอ เคเรย
อันนี้เวอร์ที่โยน Gradient map ใส่ อันจริงจะเป็นอีกสี
@WhaleOil2 i've used that same texture on a few other models and it always out surprisingly pretty. roach colored gradient
@INK01_ The smooth watercolor brush is OP. My favorite render brush as it can make creating gradients very easily.
@mcflyyeth @doodles Wowee! Welcome to the puff ball fam 😍 throw in some sexy 3D glasses and that gradient action. Lost for words! What an absolute treat 😎🚀
4. Sometimes I spend 12h trying to pick the right color gradients and I end up not liking any palette
Daily cooldown sketches! I tried my hand at pixel art today but it's HARD! I have even more respect for pixel artists now, the science of making a lineart look good, doing cool gradients and having a readable piece of art in the end, can't be improvised!
@SleepeaTea Oh yeah with gradient-heavy characters too, clear color palettes are a fantastic resource.
I made a mini-ref of my one character since his entire body is a gradient and I don't want some poor artist to absolutely suffer while trying to color this bastard
