Thanks to Shenlong, Piccolo becomes young(ish). With that done, he kills the dragon to be on the safe side. Meanwhile, Kami looks down on all of this carnage and furrows his brow pensively (I assume). Gee whiz, if there were only some way to stop Piccolo without killing him...
Roshi tries to seal Piccolo up with the Mafuba, but messes it up and dies (he’ll be a zillion times better at this technique by the time Super rolls around). Chiaotzu doesn’t last much longer (clearly he’s jealous of Kuririn getting a head start in the death count championship)
Meanwhile Roshi and co gather the remaining DBs so they can wish Piccolo away (since Piccolo Senior is weaker than Kami, this wish would presumably have worked, unlike with later enemies). Naturally, the two groups soon clash.
So yeah: this is the next day after the tournament, picking up after Goku got clobbered by Tambourine. He wakes up, meets Yajirobe and together the two take down Cymbal and Tambourine. This prompts Piccolo to come clean his clock (and take Yajirobe’s DB necklace while he’s at it)
