I started Paradise Killer the other day, it's such a visually appealing game I wanna eat it.

Dr Doom Jazz is my favourite. Just look at him. He doesn't look my usual type but bright colours + awesome design + Scottish accent signed on the dotted line for me (´｡• ᵕ •｡`) ♡

I've always wanted to try a sort of thick line, pastel colours, soft sort of art style. so tonight I did.
I'm not sure how I like it, if I like it at all, but it was fun to try. I think I could have maybe made the lines thicker? I don't know.

It’s only been 3 months since I did the original version but getting getting to the new one my advice for you is:

1- Never underestimate the power of a reference
2- Don’t forget about values
3- Pink and purple pastels are pretty colours

No CRT effect version and the assets for the shot.

SNES limitations are over my head, but I used the SMILE Super Metroid editor to check pallete limitations per sprite/map tile etc.

The tileset could be WAY bigger and with more colours, this is for one screen

After some research and lots of tinkering I managed to implement adaptive palette generation in ! The render image has been reduced to 8 colours using the following algorithms:
1) Popularity
2) Median Cut
3) Variance-Based
4) Mean-Split
