I dont think The design should be "over the top" to please the players. I just think they missing out a lot of detail with just making Hofi with very short skirt and leaving her legs so bare. They made this kind of bare designs recently and its too repetitive in my opinion

tbh instead of missing pokemon battle sprites i just miss pixelated menu sprites. not that the clean sprites look worse but the pixel ones are special and nostalgic to me and felt like a beautiful nod to the roots of pokemon that gave menus a unique simple look/charm
