Okay nevermind. tried again starting with a greyscale blocking and holy crap that was ALOT easier to get closer to what i wanted to do.

Oh man... Lost some time to a stomach bug, but I'm back to coloring! This is still in early blocking stages, but I'm playing with a new technique and I'm curious to see how it turns out. Especially with eerie glows and dramatic lightning strikes!
