Zelda lends herself to a lot of very appealing designs, while sometimes subverting from the damsel in distress standards.
My favorite incarnations of Zelda probably have to be from Breath of the Wild, Hyrule Warriors, and Twilight Princess.

Been drawing some Submarerines inspired by t72b's designs, names in order Type 7, M-Class, X-craft and finally the I-400!
And, as for story, and new designs, Pokemon Legends Arceus would deliver that and more.
But as for the base gen 4 designs, they're still relevant, effective, and reflective of the franchise.
After all, nearly 20 years later, Cynthia's design is still the gold standard.
I complain about chaos gameplay wise but guilty gear strive kinda knocked it out of the park by giving all 5 of the season 1 dlc characters cool designs, interesting gameplay, decent to really good themes, and more.
I love the concept of an OC that changes designs but you can still use any of the previous designs, because sometimes I like shifting from older designs to newer designs, So I did a little doodle of Time in her different fur patterns :)
