The Bollenhut has come to be a symbol of the Black Forest but it is traditionally worn in only 3 communities:  Gutach, Kirnbach and Reichenbach. Red pompoms are worn by single women, black ones by married women. On their wedding day, they wear a colorful and beautiful crown.

ok i think im going to try out a watercolour effect for this piece :0 i've dabbled in actual watercolour in the past but it's tbh a lot of work to get out the paint and set everything up LOL... maybe trying it digitally will motivate me to try traditionally again
